My new adventure

My new adventure

I have been so busy lately. And not the type of busy that I use to be. My current state of busyness is on a whole new level. Like full on, running around like a crazy person, busy. My busyness is coming from a few sources. The first source is simply having 3 boys. It’s craziness around here. My boys are 7, 4, and 1 1/2. I love their wild, loud, aggressive, beautiful, sweet selves. The second source is that I just started homeschooling my oldest. He’s doing great and I’m doing the best I can. I feel like if we can end the year with him knowing how to read, I’ll have done a good job. The main source for the onset of busyness is what I’ve been waiting weeks to tell you all. I’ve wanted to spill the beans so many times but I just wasn’t in the mind set to be able to talk about it but I’m so excited to finally fill you in. I am now a vendor at The Gypsy Chic Vintage Market in Lincoln, CA! Gypsy is a local, once a month vintage faire, with about 40 vendors. It’s one of the best places to treasure hunt in the greater Sacramento area. I’ve enjoyed many weekends shopping there with my family. I’m so excited to have a booth there, can you tell?

It’s been a dream of mine to have a little “shop”, whether it be a booth at a market, antique store or a boutique. Occasionally, I’ve sold a few painted furniture items on consignment at a local boutique but that was simply to earn a little money and unload some pieces I couldn’t sell on craigslist. I still had a longing to have a space of my own. A space that I could decorate however I wanted, sell my glorious treasures that I couldn’t keep for myself, but most importantly, I wanted my own space to satisfy my never ending desire to paint beautiful furniture. This has been a dream for a few years now but it wasn’t anything I could really work towards due to life circumstances (having babies). Now is the time, I guess. It’s all working together perfectly and going as smooth as I could hope.

One of the best things about this new adventure is that I’m not doing it alone. My mom is my booth partner. We will both be responsible for stocking it and keeping it looking pretty. But the family involvement doesn’t stop there, my dad has helped soooo much with the structure of the booth and my sister has also been helping here and there. And let’s not forget my hubby, without him I couldn’t do ANY of this.
This is all happening so fast, like in a matter of weeks, three weeks to be exact. My first show is October 13th-16th, more details HERE.

So here is the empty shell that we started with.  Oh the possibilities! It’s an 8×8 space that we are going to fill to the brim.

This is what I started with but it doesn’t look like this anymore. As we speak, it’s about 3/4th of the way done. This is why I’ve been so busy the past couple of weeks.  I can’t wait to show you what it looks like now!!  Early next week, maybe even tomorrow, I’ll have a blog post with all of our progress so far.

Thanks for reading and being excited with me!
