Shop The House Design Challenge: Fall Edition
Do you feel like every time you want to update an area in your home, you have to go shopping? Well, that doesn’t have to be the case! I’m excited to announce the second installment of Shop The House Design Challenge. If you don’t remember what the STHDC is, it’s were a group of us bloggers pick one spot in our homes and update it using only the items we already own. No shopping allowed! This is the cheapest way to decorate and definitely one of my favorites.
Last time I updated my fireplace/mantel area. My favorite week was #3 and it still looks like this, to this day! Which is your favorite week?

Now for the Shop The House Design Challenge: Fall Edition
I wanted to pick another area that really needed some updating. I chose my desk area for a few reasons:
- It’s in dire need of an update
- I’m bored with the space
- It serves a purpose so I want to see if I can increase it’s functionality
- I want to add fall touches
Here is what it looks like right now with no fall decor yet. Well, I did move a stack of papers because, really, who wants to see that?!?! It’s my goal to change this space for the better and make it more true to my style, all without buying anything. It will be a challenge, hence the name of the series. 😉
I hope to stretch myself and create a space I truly love. Is this something you would like to try? Or maybe you Shop The House on a regular bases already. Either way, I’d love for you to play along. We will be posting our updated spaces on Instagram each Tuesday for the month of September. Will you join us? Use the hashtag #shopthehouse to show us how you’ve updated a space for fall by using decor items you already own.

Here are the other bloggers that are also participating in the Shop The House Design Challenge. These are some amazing ladies!
Head over to their blogs and see what spaces they will be updating each week.
“And remember, you did it yourself and it will probably show. Embrace the DIY life.”
