Hutch Transformation with the Close5 App

Hutch Transformation with the Close5 App

I have the pleasure of joining the Close5 App to show you this amazing hutch that I found while using the app.

I’m about to begin an adventure as an online retailer for one of my favorite brands of paint {details coming soon}. Therefore, I needed a spot for all of the paint and supplies I will be selling. I knew I didn’t want to store it in my shed or garage. How blah!!! I wanted to create a beautiful display, the way it would look if I had a brick and mortar.
I started searching the Close5 App and found this piece pretty quickly. You can download the app HERE. The amount of people using the app in my area is growing daily.
I found this hutch listed for $100 and I used the awesome “Make an offer” feature and offered $80. The seller accepted my offer immediately. One great feature about the app is that you get an email notification when someone has accepted your offer. I love that!  Also, you can communicate both publicly and privately. No need to call or text. My husband picked the hutch up and he ended up knowing the gentlemen that was selling the hutch. Small world, right?!?

When I finally got a chance to take a good look at the piece, I was so happy to see that it didn’t need any work. Yay! I ended up falling in love with it without the top doors, so that’s how it stayed. I painted it with Window Pane by Sweet Pickins Milk Paint. (hint hint to the paint I’ll be carrying soon.)  This piece turned out the perfect amount of chippy.  Not too much, not too little. I had to scrape a drip of paint off and now it looks like a little chippy heart. It’s so cute. I  love the “ship lap” details on the back.  I left the hardware as is.  I probably should have, but I didn’t even clean it.  I feel like I was able to take it out of vintage/modern status and help it go back in time a few decades.

So before I fill this beauty with paint supplies (and move it into my son’s room…yep…my son’s room), I wanted to see it in my dining room all staged with some of my favorite things. I so wish I could keep it just like this! I need more space in my house!
