Kitchen Nook Makeover

I haven’t written a blog post in several weeks.  And it’s not because I’ve been busy on some secret project or something amazing has been taking up all of my time.  It’s nothing dramatic or romantic. The real reason for being absent was that I’ve been so tired. Logan (14 months) was a terrible sleeper and it was taking it’s toll on me.  We finally buckled down and did some good old sleep training. Now he’s a wonderful sleeper and his mommy is a much more sane person. I feel as though I have gotten part of my life back. Maybe I should blog about our sleep training experience?? With all of that said, it doesn’t mean I didn’t work on projects. I can’t NOT work on projects.  My middle name is projects. So here is what I’ve been working on.

My Kitchen Nook area needed a makeover badly!  The before picture is rather embarrassing but completely accurate. I was about to sell the cabinet on the right so I had just taken everything out of it. Crazy messy. Cray ugly. Crazy disorganized.  And seriously….I had a mop hanging from my ceiling…I needed an organizational intervention.

This part of my kitchen is the only part I can actually change {remember I’m a renter!} so I really wanted to enjoy the space.  And since storage is an issue I needed to make the most of this area. I needed a broom closet and I needed craft storage.  Here it is.  I found one of the cabinets on Close5App. You can find details HERE.

I also painted the trim around the window. Ask for forgiveness not permission, I guess. Now this is not a statement I live by but it’s becoming a little more relavant during our 3rd year of renting this home.

Thanks for letting me “talk” to you for a minute.  I hope you all are having a good day.

And remember, you did it yourself and it will probably show.  Embrace the DIY life.
