Back in January when we started this challenge, I chose to focus on my mantle/fireplace. This space needed so much attention and love. I have to admit, I really like the way this installment turned out. I knew I wanted to use our family picture on the mantle (picture taken by my sister) but I wasn’t sure what else I was going to do with the space. I have to come clean, I bought the mat for the picture after the challenge had begun. The picture and frame were already mine. Can you find it in your heart to please forgive me!?! 🙂 All of the other items I used to decorate the space were all things I had before the challenge began in January.I think my favorite item in the space is my chair. It just makes me happy.
And I can never go wrong with adding a few of my blue glass bottles.
I found these corbels at an antique store and they are rocking awesome.
The only item that wasn’t bought second hand was the gray blanket behind the white one. Everything else was an antique or thrifted.
I hope you enjoyed this installment of the Shop The House Design Challenge. Isn’t it great to use what you already have? Decorating with purpose and resourcefulness. I’m loving this challenge and cant wait for next month!
Remember, you did it yourself and it will probably show. Embrace the DIY life.
